It is always nice to start getting the children involved in meal times and what better that to begin this during their vacations? They need something to occupy them, they are always hungry, so choose a few simple recipes with uncomplicated methods and ingredients, minimal cooking and let them have fun under adult supervision. Here are three simple recipes using bread that children above 5 can make.

Ingredients

Bread 4 slices

Butter 1 tbsp

Tomato/ Chilli sauce 1 tbsp

Carrot 1 small, peeled and cut

into thin matchsticks

Bell peppers ¼ of each red and

yellow cut into sticks

Cucumber ¼ piece, cut

into matchsticks

Herbs Of choice

Method: Take the brown edges off the slices of bread and roll flat with a rolling pin.

Apply the butter and sauce onto the bread.

At one end of the slice, place the herbs, top with a few sticks of each vegetable.

Roll it up tight into a roll. Slice into three equal pieces with a sharp knife. Repeat with all the slices and serve immediately
