Handlooms @ wholesale price

To the delight of handloom aficionados, the Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society Limited (APCO) launched the sale of handloom fabrics at wholesale prices at APCO Bhavan in the city on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Weavers Service Centre (WSC) deputy director Vishesh Nautiyal said, “The government has initiated several measures to promote the use of handloom fabrics as the sector is providing livelihood to many weavers in the State.

The demand for handloom products should be tapped fully through a better marketing strategy. Handloom weavers need to produce sarees, dress material and other fabrics in accordance with the changing fashions and then only they will get better market for their products.”

A variety of handloom products in a price range of Rs 350 to Rs 12,000 are available at the exhibition from 10 am to 9 pm on week days. Silk, cotton and fancy sarees, dhotis, dress materials, bed sheets and other products from famous handloom centres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States are available. APCO regional divisional manager V Kamaleswara Rao and other officials were present.
