Capturing rich history of East Godavari. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday released Eastern Musings- a collection of stories from 2005-2015 written and sketched by senior journalist BVS Bhaskar. The book was published by Adikavi Nannaya University and supported by Balakavi Educational Seva Trust (BEST).

The first copy of the book was received by Nannaya University Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) and Registrar Prof KM Dhanamjaya Rao at a function held at R & B guesthouse after the Godavari Pushkara review meeting.

The Chief Minister handed over the copies to his ministerial colleagues N Chinarajappa, Y Ramakrishnudu, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Pydikondala Manikayala Rao, Peethala Sujatha, and M Muralimohan.

The book was also distributed to Pushkaram Special Officer K Dhanumjaya Reddy, East Godavari district collector H Arun Kumar and also R R Pallam Raju, MD of Futura Infra, Kakinada. Naidu appreciated the works of Bhaskar on bringing about the book on the eve of Godavari Pushkarams-2015 and said that it will indeed enlighten the readers narrating the tales of East Godavari.

The book reveals highly informative, startling and inspiring brief stories and parables highlighting East Godavari district’s socio-economic conditions, culture and heritage, that have been written and sketched by Bhaskar. Naidu also appreciated the efforts of photographer S Rambabu, designer K Sateesh and Vasanth of Amalapuram at the event.

After the book release, Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University said that University’s department of Management and English has contributed a lot in publishing the book. He appreciated Prof. S. Teki and Prof. K. Ramesh respectively.

He added that the stories in ‘Eastern Musings’ were not merely brief stories or parables but have vital substance in them that manifests the indigenous skills, acumenship, endemic traditions that testimony the great and rich cultural heritage of East Godavari district.

“This may go without saying that this noble work may go a long way in the annals of East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh,” he added. The book, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao said that, has aptly come of age, and would become significant source of work on East Godavari District cultural heritage and socio-economic narrations on the eve of Godavari Pushkarams.
