81st Jayanthi of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi
The 81st Jayanthi Mahotsava Celebrations of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipathi Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal was held on Saturday. Jayendra Saraswathi gave Viswaroopa darshanam at 5 am which was witnessed by hundreds of devotees. He then proceeded to Kamakshi Temple at 6 am and had darshan of Goddess Kamakshi and came back to his mutt.

His Holiness Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal performed abhishekam to Goddess Kamakshi. He then performed Chandramou leeswara Pooja and Punar Pooja of Vyasa. His Holiness blessed the devotees by giving them Vyasakshata. His Holiness then inaugurated an exhibition of ayurvedic herbal plants in the mutt premises. Saravanabhava Homam, Rig Samhita Homam and Maha Rudra Homam were performed to commemorate the Jayanthi celebrations.
Dampathi Pooja, Suvasini Pooja, Kanya Pooja, Vadu Pooja and Vilakku Pooja etc were also performed during this occasion. Vijayendra Saraswathi then performed Padapuja and Kanakabhishekam to His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. Jayendra Saraswathi then released DVD's of his discourse on Bhagavad Gita and Viveka Choodamani on this occasion.
Devotees in large number performed Bikshavandanam and Padapuja on this occasion. A golden chariot will be donated to Ekambareshwara Temple on this occasion. Clothes were distributed to the poor and needy. Several welfare schemes including tailoring machines, iron boxes, idli pots were donated to the poor for ensuring their self employment. Nadaswara Vidwans and musicians were felicitated.
Sri Sankara College of Arts and Science, Enathur, which recently got approval for being an autonomous institution, received blessings from His Holiness. Prasadams from several temples from all over India were offered to His Holiness on this auspicious occasion.
