A sacred storytelling session of Shamanic Journeying and tales of the spirit bear was held at Our Sacred Space recently.The session was organised as part of the Verge Project Tour. It focused on workshops that explore the inner spirit traditions of Journeying for Healing through storytelling and sounds, which is an established tradition across all shamanistic cultures in the world.

A sacred storytelling session of Shamanic Journeying and tales of the spirit bear was held at Our Sacred Space recently.The session was organised as part of the Verge Project Tour. It focused on workshops that explore the inner spirit traditions of Journeying for Healing through storytelling and sounds, which is an established tradition across all shamanistic cultures in the world.


Koitso Salil Mukhia (born Koitso Mizong), who has been conducting such workshops since the age of seven, addressed the gathering with stories aided with the ritual drum (Dhyangro). The evening saw a powerful practice in terms of seeking inner guidance, divination, understanding the cause of illness or problems and effecting inner healing and well-being.


Verge Project, initiated by storytelling, Koitso Salil Mukhia, is an effort to take forward the vanishing traditions of the Kiranta indigenous tribes of the Eastern Himalayas before a larger audience and documenting oral traditions of other minority indigenous communities in view of bringing forward their relevance in the urban context.
