A state-of-the-art passenger amenity centre was inaugurated at Hayatnagar by Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and Minister for Major Irrigation T Harish Rao on Monday. The centre has ground plus two floors with rest rooms for passengers. Toilets, drinking water facility, enquiry centre, reservation counter were thrown open to public.

A state-of-the-art passenger amenity centre was inaugurated at Hayatnagar by Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and Minister for Major Irrigation T Harish Rao on Monday. The centre has ground plus two floors with rest rooms for passengers. Toilets, drinking water facility, enquiry centre, reservation counter were thrown open to public.


The top floors would be developed for commercial purpose, informed a senior RTC official. Training centres, supermarkets and banks would come up in the near future, he added. As part of the modernisation programme, Rs 162.13 crore was sanctioned in 2008 and bus depots in the city were upgraded and new ones were built.


Passenger information system, destination boards, ticket issuing machines, global positioning system and a host of other amenities were added to several bus terminals. TSRTC JMD, G V Ramana Rao, A Purushotam Naik, ED and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
