Prasad was felicitated at a meeting held at the college on Saturday under the chairmanship of in-charge principal G Parthasarathi Varma. Speaking on the occasion, Prasad said that he conducted practical experiments by using 20 mm red gravel procured from Chebrolu and Nuzvid in concrete mix, which proved to be strong and cost-effective.
“About 30 per cent of construction costs could be saved by using red gravel in aggregate as it comes at a lower price compared to black gravel,” he said. College president Sagi Prasada Raju, secretary S Achyutarama Raju, chairman Gokaraju Murali Ranga Raju, director SV Ranga Raju, Civil Engineering Department head M Jagapathi Raju and other faculty members congratulated Prasad.
