Philips on Tuesday launched two Android-based smartphones in India, dubbed Xenium I908 and Xenium S309, priced at Rs 11,799 and Rs 4,999 respectively. While both the smartphones are new in the market, the Xenium I908 has been listed on the company website since December last year.

The Philips Xenium I908 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) handset that features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 441ppi. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat-based smartphone is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core (unspecified chipset) processor alongside 2GB of RAM.

It sports 16GB inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD, card (up to 32GB). The device features a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with CMOS sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash, while also housing a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an 88-degree wide-angle lens for selfies.

It also includes a 3000mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 25 hours of talk time and up to 1080 hours of standby time. Connectivity options on the Philips I908 include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, FM radio, and 3G. It measures 143x70x8.8mm and weighs around 155.8 grams.

"Identifying the dearth in the industry for phones with high-end performance capabilities, we have introduced the I908 with powerful features across every aspect of the phone. Packed with Philips' trademark Xenium technology, the phone offers excellent battery life and stand by time for its consumers.

It is ideal for consumers looking for a smooth and reliable smartphone experience. The S309 on the other hand is the ideal phone for users looking for a budget smartphone with key features and reliable performance," added SS Bassi, Country Manager - Saarc, Sangfei Mobility on the launch.
