Cinépolis launches multiplex at Malkajgiri

Cinépolis launched its second multiplex with five screens, at Malkajgiri Ramachandara CCPL Mall on Friday. Equipped with complete digital projection, the multiplex offers a visually-stunning experience with RealD 3D screens, digital sound and largest legroom in the industry.

With the unveiling of this theatre, the Mexican multiplex operator has reached 206 screens in India, since starting their first multiplex in 2009. Commenting on the launch Javier Sotomayor, Managing Director, Cinépolis India said, “Hyderabad is an important market in our growth strategy. This is the second Cinépolis property in the city. Our plan is to open more than 35 screens in next 3 years.”

“With this launch at Ramachandra CCPL Mall, the total number of screens has reached 206. We are planning to close this year at 250+ screens with new properties opening in Bengaluru, Kochi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Delhi, and Guwahati. Our plan is to open 60-70 screens per year to achieve the target of 400 screens by 2017,” he added.

Ashish Shukla, Director Expansion said, “This is our second launch in South India in last three months. We will launch two more Multiplexes in this market by end of this year in Kochi (11 screens) and Bengaluru (5 screens).” Shivraj Thakur, Director, Colonial Construction Pvt. Ltd., shared, “We are glad to join hands with an international brand as big as Cinépolis.

We are expecting a heavy footfall and look forward to a long term patronage of Hyderabad residents at this multiplex.”Cinépolis India is part of Cinépolis that is the world’s fourth largest movie theatre circuit. It currently has operations in thirty Indian cities.
