Prof L Jayasree of Acharya Nagarjuna University said the government should ensure that all educational institutions in the state set up anti-ragging cells to curb the menace effectively.

Speaking at a seminar she termed ragging a social evil. “Awareness should be created among students about the adverse effects of ragging to protect their future as it ruins the academic careers of both victims and perpetrators.”

“Students should concentrate on studies without getting involved in ragging and other unruly activities on the campus,” she said. POW state president R Ganga Bhavani, general secretary M Lakshmi, PDSU state president A Ravi Chandra, general secretary S Ramamohan and others also spoke.
