Sizzlers probably originated a few centuries ago when meat was served on a heated cast iron plate to keep it piping hot, while the diner ate the meal. However, over the years they have become a part of cuisine and as many specialty restaurants are serving sizzlers on their menu.

Golkonda Hotel introduced a food promotion, serving a wide variety of sizzlers steaming in from all across the world. The sizzlers are served as a combination of main dish served with accompaniments, making it a complete meal. While continental sizzlers are accompanied with bruschetta, oriental sizzlers are accompanied with fried rice and noodles, Indian sizzlers are accompanied with dal and naan.

On the menu is ‘Lamb Tangine’ which is essentially cubes of lamb simmered with whole spices and ground vegetables. It gets its Moroccan flavour from a blend of aromatic spices such as turmeric, cumin, ginger, cardamom and cinnamon. If you are a sea food lover, you will enjoy the ‘River salmon Steak’.

Large portions of river salmon that are treated with freshly ground spices and shallow fried on a griddle. ‘Paprika and Basil Basa Fillet’ is a paprika flavoured dish, grilled to perfection. These are indeed the most luscious and delicious fish dishes on the menu. ‘Roasted Chicken Forestiere’, another delectable dish is cooked on the griddle and glazed with a brown sauce with tomatoes and onions. ‘Murgh Tikka Mirza Hussaine’ has chunks of chicken enveloped in freshly pounded chillies and cooked on embers of charcoal.

Sizzlers are so yum, that just the sound of sizzzzzz will make your mouth water for more; even vegetarian ones. The ‘Cottage Cheese Steak’ with burnt garlic paprika sauce, paneer flavoured with basil, cooked on charcoal or the ‘Singapore Cripsy Corn Sizzler’, try any one of the many vegetarian sizzling specials and it will surely light up the fire on your taste buds. The Sizzlers will be available at the Milan restauranttill Sunday.
