Over a thousand Keralites residing in various parts of Hyderabad congregated at Kapra Lake, in Sainikpuri recently, to homage to their ancestors by offering ‘Bali Tharpanam’ on the auspicious Karkidaka Vavu. This is the sixth consecutive year that Rama Dharma Pracharana Sabha, a united forum of Hindu organisations, has organised the event.

Four temple priests connected to temples in Kerala were arranged to supervise the ‘Bali.’ The Rama Dharma Sabha had arranged bathing ‘ghats’, mobile toilets, medical aid and other facilities for the event, which was held from 6 am to 10 am. In addition, the GHMC extended its support by offering to take up cleaning at the lakeside before and after the rituals.
