FitBit has launched the new Windows 10 universal app, which is now available to download for free on the Microsoft store. It is compatible with Fitbit’s family of products, including the Fitbit Surge, Fitbit Charge HR, Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Flex, Fitbit One and Fitbit Zip activity trackers, as well as the Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale. FitBit was made available for earlier variants of Windows too.

The app has been redesigned keeping in mind the new Windows 10 interface. It supports Windows 10 features such as Cortana voice commands and Continumm. “Cortana support allows users to speak commands on Windows 10 tablets, PCs and mobile phones – such as “Fitbit, I ate chicken for dinner” or “Fitbit, I went for a three-mile run” – for automatic and easier food and activity logging,” Microsoft explained.

The dashboard will show detailed information about everyone’s daily routines and quick actions will allow activity racking and logging. Just like the previous version of the app, notifications are pushed to the Notification Center and Activity updates can be viewed on the Live Tile.

The update brings enhanced syncing with Bluetooth across all Windows 10 devices with supported hardware. The all-new app will be made available for Windows 10 Mobile and the Xbox One later this year.
