Cinematographer and director MV Raghu who conducted the workshop, explained in detail the fixation of a camera for a film shoot and its movement, adjustment of lighting as per situation, shot division and all other technical aspects of movie making. The workshop also covered development of story, screenplay and direction.

Speaking on screenplay and direction, ‘Ankuram’ movie director C Umamaheswara Rao said, ``A creative director is the one who visualises the scene first and ensures that the final outcome reflects his true imagination.''

Explaining the importance of communication in film-making, Telugu Artistes Federation president Hemadri Prasad said, ``The film should communicate directly to the audience in the form of a message. Modulation and dialogue delivery of the actor plays an important role in communication.''

Noted writer and actor YS Krishneswara Rao underlined the need for proper correlation between story, screenplay and direction, which is vital for the success of a film. A short film was made by the participants with the technical inputs provided by the experts during the workshop.

This was inaugurated by veteran stage actor G Radhakrishna Murthy. Attending the valedictory of the workshop, management consultant MC Das stressed on the need to enhance the quality of Indian films. The conduct of workshops on film-making will help to improve the technical standards of Indian films, he said.

Nagarjuna Educational Institutes chairman Devineni Kishore, Artistes Federation secretary Rampilla Mohana Krishna, vice-president PVB Sarma, treasurer BV Shyam Prasad and others were also present. The short film produced during the workshop was screened at its valedictory.
