A two-day national seminar on ‘Shaping the Future with Nano Sciences’ began at PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science in the city on Wednesday. Speaking after inaugurating the seminar organised by the Department of Chemistry, Joint Collector Gandham Chandrudu said, ``The advancements in nano science make high-end technology affordable, which can be effectively used in every field.''

In his keynote address, Prof MV Basaveswara Rao, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Krishna University, said, ``The nano technology is highly interdisciplinary and includes concepts from Chemistry, Physics, Biology and engineering, which can be applied in a wide range of aspects related to human life.’’

He called upon students to focus on research and invent new things for the scientific development of nation. Prof Kishor Desai, Director, Department of Chemistry, Uka Tarsadia University, Gujarat, said, ``Green Chemistry has attained more significance in the present scenario due to manifold increase in pollution.

Nano technology should be incorporated in developing new procedures that can fight pollution effectively.'' Siddhartha Academy president N Venkateswarlu, college principal MVN Padma Rao, seminar organising secretary M Manoranjani and others were present.
