Mohammed Aman, one of the finalists of Zee Tv’s singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa-2012’, recently gave a mesmerising performance in Shastriya Sangeet at Ravindra Bharathi. The programme was a tribute to Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. His music captivated the packed house and the audiences were awestruck as he had redefined the classical music at the event.

In ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa -2012’, he was the only singer in the competition who impressed the judges and audience by his renditions of classical music. Aman originally hails from Jaipur and speaking about his tryst with music he says, “I've been learning classical music since I was five and when I was nine I had given my first stage performance.

I want to present and renew Hindustani Shastriya Sangeet, as it is the core for music." Coming from a family who were deeply into music Aman shares about his idols who gave him inspiration to move forward in music. “I was inspired a lot by my grandfather Amir Mohammad Khan and my father Ustad Zafar Mohammed since my childhood.

My favourite singer is Sonu Nigam. Hindustani music is very close to my heart and I love to continue singing classical music till the end.”“To make career in music, the knowledge of raags is very important,” he concludes.
