Telangana Photographic Society showcased ‘Galleria-2015’- an annual photography exhibition, at State Gallery of Art, which had the best photographic art displayed by its members. The exhibition, which began on Wednesday, will be on until September 23.“The aim of this exhibition is to bring excellence of this art form to the forefront and make it accessible to all photography enthusiasts.

In keeping with the tradition of the exhibition, ‘Galleria’ 2015 presents a wide range of photography genres, such as nature and landscape, macro, travel, street, portrait, fashion, table-top and fine art photography,” says Ashok Kandimalla, president of the society.

Kandimalla adds, “The society, since its inception, has done tremendous service to photography. We believe in the philosophy that knowledge not shared is knowledge lost. To further this principle, our society has conducted several courses, lectures and workshops.

It is not an exaggeration to say that at least a few hundreds of young men and women were initiated to the world of photography with the help of the society.” Telangana Photographic Society has conducted several workshops and photographic outings for its members and introduced photography courses for budding photographers.

“The name is Telangana, but we are presenting the work from all over India. Anyone can be a member of our society,” says Ashok. Telangana Photographic Society (earlier known as Andhra Pradesh Photographic Society (APPS)) was started in 1957 to promote the art and science of photography.
