Chinos, which are casual cotton trousers made from a fabric called chino, can pass off as daily wear, but they can also be jazzed up for the right season and occasion, if chosen well. Anurag Rajpal, director and CEO of online shopping website American Swan, has doled out some tips:

For everyday wear: On a casual day, wear a tanned coloured chino, fold it at the bottoms with an Oxford Cloth Button Down shirt, pair it up with some cool brown boots and don’t forget to add a stainless steel watch to your wrist.

For office: Adding chinos to office wear can give a lot to experiment with the menswear elements. A simple tan coloured chinos with a button down checks shirt (preferably a red shade), a plain base knitted tie, brown leather belt and nicely polished brown shoes for the perfect day at work.

For summers: Beating the heat in chinos can never go wrong. Team up your classic tan chinos with a navy blue, white striped tee. Add a tint of yellow colour to your wrist with a funky watch and a braided leather belt around your waist. Complete the look with crisp white sneakers.

For winters: Chinos simply work well in all seasons. Dark coloured chinos fit absolutely well in this season. Team up with a layering of white full sleeved royal blue V-neck sweater. Don’t forget to add brown boots to accentuate the look.
