Latest medical techniques discussed at APASICON

The scientific session of APASICON -2015 (Association of Surgeons of India AP Chapter) commenced, at GSL Medical College, on Friday. Various eminent speakers from surgical specialty spoke on the latest trends in diagnostics, treatment modalities and advanced surgeries. Academic sessions were organised in all the five conference halls.

Solutions were offered by senior faculty members for some of the commonly occurring diagnostic issues and improved surgical procedures for cases like solid organ surgery, neonatal surgical emergencies, anorectal malformations and laproscopic surgeries. Evaluation of Bariatric surgeries in Andhra Pradesh and some malignant (cancerous) conditions like penis cancer and malignant melanoma were also discussed.

Orations in the honour of Dr Shanmukheswara Rao and Dr Kompella Suryanarayana Murthy were given by Dr GV Rao and Dr D Nageswara Reddy, respectively; on the topics, ‘Impact On The Evolution Of Surgery’ and ‘Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy – The New Horizons’, respectively.

Product Specialist Symbionix, Guy Talmor, spoke on ‘Mentor in Modern Medicine’. Organising Secretary of the conference, Dr Ganni Bhaskara Rao, said, “It was a golden opportunity for the medical fraternity to update themselves on current needs and solutions of various challenges.”
