The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is designing super intelligent robots for deployment along the Line of Control (LoC) to check intrusions. The announcement came during the keynote address delivered by Akash Gupta of Innovative Technology Labz, New Delhi, at the two-day national workshop on ‘Intelligent Robotics’, at Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana (KBN) College, on Friday.

Gupta said, “Robotics is an advanced science that throws up endless possibilities and involves fine motor skills, creative and logical thinking and problem solving by applying principles of science and mathematics. It is a multidisciplinary field, which has immense growth potential.

It is attracting researchers from computer science, electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, material sciences and bioengineering disciplines. Robotics is an excellent career option for students who want to invent new things for the benefit of society.”

Krishna University (KRU) Vice-Chancellor, D Suryachandra Rao, underlined the need to do increased research on robotics for the development of intelligent robots, which can be used for critical and high risk tasks.

KRU principal, YK Sundara Krishna, KBN College president, U Sambasiva Rao, secretary and correspondent, SVSM Rajith Kumar, in-charge principal, V Narayana Rao, PG director, Y Narasimha Rao, Computers Department head, PL Ramesh and other faculty members were present.
