Live CME laparoscopy workshop a hit. The live Complete Mesocolic Excision (CME) laparoscopy workshop organised on the final day of the 38th Andhra Pradesh Association of Surgeons of India (APASICON 2015), on Sunday, drew much attention from guests and students alike.

The live Complete Mesocolic Excision (CME) laparoscopy workshop organised on the final day of the 38th Andhra Pradesh Association of Surgeons of India (APASICON 2015), on Sunday, drew much attention from guests and students alike.
The workshop, which was organised at GSL Medical College and General Hospital, Rajahmundry, had a live demonstration of suture less Vaginal Hysterectomy, which was performed by Dr Mahapatra from Cuttak, and Laparoscopic Tubal Canalisation by Dr Rajesh Modi Akola from Gujarath.
Four Bariatric surgeries were also demonstrated in the live workshop that included Whipple’s procedure for Carcinoma of pancreas, direct inguinal hernia with Meshplasty and excision of Hydatid liver cysts, Laparoscopic Hemi-thyroidectomy and Fundoplication for Hiatus Hernia.
A demonstration workshop for fifty post graduate students was also organised at the simulation laparoscopic lab by the director, Dr Ganni Sundeep. In addition, academic sessions were organised on Sunday in which 80 delegates from Gynaec and Obstetric specialty attended.
Panel discussions were conducted on topics like ‘Laparoscopic Surgery in Gynaecological Practice’ by Dr Hanuman Chirala, and ‘Infertility and LapSurgeon Demo’ and ‘Onco-Surgery of Radical Hysterectomy’ by Dr Ramesh.
About 150 research papers, 90 e-posters, three video presentations and six lectures from the faculty were presented during the conference, which was attended by 1200 delegates and specialists in the field of General Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Surgical Oncology and Gynaecological Surgery.
Organising secretary and Chairman of GSL Medical College, Dr Ganni Bhaskara Rao thanked the delegates and felicitated eminent surgeons.
