Profiling the life of Kabir. Who can fathom the greatness of Kabir Das? Probably none. But, we can all take inspiration from his life. Rasa Ranjani staged scenes from the saint’s life in a drama titled, ‘Kabir Dasu’, at Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally, on Friday.

Who can fathom the greatness of Kabir Das? Probably none. But, we can all take inspiration from his life. Rasa Ranjani staged scenes from the saint’s life in a drama titled, ‘Kabir Dasu’, at Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally, on Friday.

It begins with a group of Hindus and Muslims arguing about Kabir’s status for their community. When his teacher, Ramanandha educates him about real knowledge, Kabir decides to step in and civilise people on ‘real life’. In the penultimate scene, Kabir explains to a landlord, ‘you can’t take a single paisa after your death.’ The play ends on the note, ‘God is one’.

The drama that went on for over two hours enthralled the audience on the greatness of Kabir, who grew up with in a Muslim household, learned at the hands of Ramananda and was a great devotee of Lord Rama. It was performed by twenty-one actors. Director, Mikkili Francis, was the lead.
