Hyderabad Runners Society and Bharti Airtel have announced their association with Digital Telangana, an initiative of the State Government, for the fifth edition of Airtel Hyderabad Marathon. The government is keen to support the annual sporting event. The marathon will be held on August 30 and 14,000 runners are expected to participate in the event.

Considered to be among the leading city marathons in India, this sporting event also marks the beginning of the Marathon Week and aims to bring the 425 year old historic city of Hyderabad alive.For the second time in a row, there will be a 36 hours run by Arun Bhardwaj on treadmill.


An ultramarathon runner, Bhardwaj became the first Indian to win a 567km six-day race at Hekpoort in South Africa in 2010.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Murali Nannapaneni, Race Director – Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, said, “In this edition, we have focused on significantly increasing runner safety and amenities, course entertainment and volunteers, as well as the overall experience. We would request to the people of Hyderabad to come and support / cheer runners and be a part of such a massive event.”
