Famous couture designer, Pallavi Jaikishen’s pieces are classic yet versatile with a modern touch. To date her signature style remains subtle, graceful and stylish. Each piece she designs has a timeless essence to it with designs done in pure fabrics. Pallavi and her daughter, Bhairavi, exhibited their bridal collection at Angasutra Boutique, on Monday.

“My dreams and passion inspired me to become a designer. It’s been 43 years since I have started my boutique,” says Pallavi who chooses her fabrics keeping Indian women in mind. Pure silks, chiffons and georgettes find their way in her collections.“There are timeless classic designs in my mother’s collection and I, too, followed her footsteps.

I have been in the industry for the twenty years and now, have my store at Juhu,” says Bhairavi. Pallavi’s collection includes mix of all things bridal, such as embroidery, stone work, tape work, rasham work and trend sequences. “Creating designs in such a way that they can last forever is the meaning for fashion for me,” says Pallavi about her designs.

Pallavi believes that her designs should be a timeless classic and that no amount of changes in styles or trends can claim superiority to it. In fact, it could even be accepted on as a family heirloom. Pallavi's work is a witness of the fact that each garment she designs is handcrafted with rich values.
