In an honest gesture, Arepalli Ganesh Babu of Vuyyuru handed over Rs 49,000 he found on the road to police. Twenty-year-old Ganesh, a technician in a private firm, found a cover containing Rs 49,000 on Mahatma Gandhi Road, on August 21, while he was going to board an RTC bus to return home.
Without getting lured by the money, Ganesh approached the Krishnalanka police and handed over the sum to them. Appreciating his honesty, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) LKV Ranga Rao presented Good Citizen Certificate to Ganesh, on Wednesday.
