Microsoft XBox One to start selling offline from next month

Microsoft’s XBox One will now be available via offline retail stores starting next month. Until now, the gaming console was sold exclusively via Amazon.

Commenting on the same, Anshu Mor, Director, Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft India said, “Moving a step forward to extend the world’s most-loved gaming portfolio to passionate Indian gaming enthusiasts, we are happy to bring the Xbox One consoles, games and accessories to our Priority Resellers.

Retailing our products on Amazon.in gave us the platform to build scale and reach out to the ever-expanding digital audience, and now with the availability of our gaming products in our stores, we are committed to bringing a world class experience to our customers.”However, instead of third-party stores, the company will go ahead and sell the device via its own stores.

Earlier, citing a source related to the matter reveals that the reason for the not approaching the other outlets is they will outright reject as there is still lot of excess XBox 360 inventory. The Xbox One arrived in India last year in September, exclusively via Amazon. Launched at a starting price of Rs 39, 990, it is now available at a lower price.

With the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft has also announced that it is working on streaming PC games to Xbox One consoles. Xbox One games streaming to PC has been announced for a while now, and the new announcement means PC games streaming to Xbox One will be made available soon.

The Xbox One is known to support keyboard for the use of basic text inputs, but the console had never been compatible with the mouse. Though there have been third-party adapters for both PS4 and XBox One, but for the first time the Xbox One may get keyboard-mouse support.
