An NGO by young entrepreneurs, ‘Prayas’ was launched on Tuesday, at Soda Bottle Openerwala, Jubilee Hills. This is a versatile organisation to provide aid; be it educational, employment opportunities or healthcare, with the vision to help raise the standard of living in the society.

Founders of  Prayas

The first project, which Prayas took up, is a school for blind girls in Malakpet, in which they took up the responsibility to provide for basic amenities where students are deprived of basic necessities. The next project for Prayas is a school for the handicapped; for sports equipment specially designed for differently abled people.


In addition, Prayas is organising a fund raising event on September 5 at Cyber City Convention Center, where famous ghazal artiste, Pankaj Udhas will be performing. The proceeds will be donated to a school for visually challeneged that includes ‘Durgabai Deshmukh Vocational Training And Rehabilitation Centre For Handicapped’, in Vidyanagar and GHS blind girls school, Malakpet.

Upasna Kamineni launched the NGO and lauded the initiative that aims to bring cheer to the underprivileged. The board of Prayas includes Karishma Jain, President, Shaaz Mehmood Vice President, Namit Naren Jain General Secretary and Preethi Jain Treasurer.
