The Auto Driver Union will be honouring the Chief Minister, K Chandra Shekar Rao, as the ‘best Chief Minister’. The announcement came from Union President, Amidullah Khan, during the awareness programme on the implementation of the ‘accidental death insurance’ scheme, on Friday, at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram.

The Auto Driver Union will be honouring the Chief Minister, K Chandra Shekar Rao, as the ‘best Chief Minister’. The announcement came from Union President, Amidullah Khan, during the awareness programme on the implementation of the ‘accidental death insurance’ scheme, on Friday, at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram.


Speaking at the event, Home Minister, Nayini Narasimha Reddy lauded the Chief Minister for implementing this scheme and said, “Telangana is the first state providing 5 lakh insurance to even non-transport drivers (auto) and home guards, without any premium taken from the holders.”


Further, he mentioned that the scheme was taken into consideration from August 22 and that the eligibility is 18 to 70 years. Explaining details of the scheme, he said, “The specialty of this insurance is that it covers deaths due to electric shocks, snake poison or consuming any other poison, murders, deaths while diving in water, fire accidents, thunder stroke, scorpion bite and if killed by animals (domestic and wild).”


The scheme covering 5 lakh for transport drivers and non–transport drivers (auto), home guards and working journalists is organised by Telangana Labour Department with the support of Telangana Government. Members who attended the program include MLA, Mahabubnagar, Srinivas Goud; Home Guard President, Rajender Reddy;


Telangana State Association president, Gopi Reddy; State Information Department, Director, PV Subhash; Labour Union Secretary, Preetam Singh; Labour Commissioner, Ahmed; Working Journalist, Subhash; Joint Transport Department, Secretary, Raghunath and others.
