Heart and kidney surgeries at GGH soon

Jeevan Dhan committee led by Dr Ravi Raju visited the city Government General Hospital to study facilities and expertise for conducting kidney and heart transplantation surgeries in the hospital, on Saturday.

The committee after studying the facilities would recomend for according approval to the GGH for undertaking kidney and heart transplantation sugeries on a regular basis.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Ravi Raj said that Visakhapatnam, after Hyderabad, was conducting heart surgeries. “After according approval, GGH would be the second hospital to perform heart surgeries in divided Andhra Pradesh,” he added.
