Lenovo A6000, A6000 Plus get Android 5.0 in India. Lenovo Mobiles has finally released the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for its popular A6000 and A6000 Plus budget smartphones in India.

Lenovo Mobiles has finally released the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for its popular A6000 and A6000 Plus budget smartphones in India. The two smartphones were launched with Android 4.4 (KitKat) on board, and the new update will bring bug fixes, performance improvement and stability, along with Material Design elements.

According to Lenovo, it has sold over 1.3 million units of A6000 and A6000 Plus smartphones till date. The OTA (over-the-air) update for A6000 Plus is reportedly 1091MB and is based on the Android 5.0.2 build, not the latest Android 5.1.1.

Lenovo A6000 gained instant popularity among buyers when it was launched in India in January this year due to its value-for-money proposition. It was soon replaced in Lenovo's portfolio by A6000 Plus, which doubled the RAM and internal storage at just Rs 500 extra.

Since its launch in April, Lenovo A6000 Plus has continued to figure in the list of best smartphones under Rs 10,000. The two smartphones, which are available only via Flipkart, were also key in Lenovo's 4G strategy; the company now holds 29.4 per cent share of India's 4G smartphone market, according to IDC data.
