The initiative titled ‘Himalaya to Kanyakumari Tree Trip’ was launched on May 7 and is the longest tree planting journey of its kind, in history.

The tree trip plans to interact with students and raise awareness on the need to plant and protect trees. The trip has already covered 20,000 km, wherein seeds and saplings have been planted in all the districts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Goa.

The next phase of trip is in Telangana, which was officially inaugurated at VVS Laxman Sports Academy in Sreenidhi International School campus by Rayudu.

Speaking on the occasion, Rayudu said, “I enjoy farming and tree conservation. One should dedicate at least 10 per cent of their time everyday to conserve nature.”
