Students at SDM Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala were rendered the significance of the national language during the ‘World Hindi Day’ celebrations on Monday. Addressing the students, Departmental Heal of Hindi at PG and Research Institute of DBHPS, Prof S V V S S Narayana Raj insisted to adapt versus of poems by Tulasidas, Kabirdas and other scriptures that preach life values and stand true till date.

“Draw inspiration from the literary works of these famous poets, which will enhance mental peace and promote serenity,” he said. He said that Hindi was well adapted by the Indian communities as a national language for its distinction of being known as language spoken by the Indians during the British rule, where English was ruling the roost.

The language was announced Raj Basha in 1950. For its feasibility of being computer-friendly, since it is originated from Devanagari and alike, the language is widely spoken and is known to people from all parts of the country.

College principal T Vijaya Lakshmi, Head of the department of Hindi of the College, A Rama Lakshmi, Telugu department president A Naga Jyothi, other faculty and students were present during the lecture.
