Free BP screening camp on Sept 21

The Cardiology Society of India (CSI) is conducting a free blood pressure screening programme, ‘BIG BP SURVEY’ on September 21 in prominent locations across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a silent killer, as it has no warning signs or symptoms. It is a serious threat if not controlled in time; it is the precursor to life threatening ailments including heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, stroke paralysis and loss of memory.

According to Dr Shiv Kumar, President, CSI, TS and AP Chapter, this initiative is being undertaken by CSI to assess the extent of high blood pressure amongst the twin cities populace, to raise awareness and initiate remedial measures to address this health hazard.

The Free Screening Camps on 21st September will be held at all prominent public places like KBR Park; Vengalrao Park; Indira Park; Chacha Nehru Park, Masab Tank; Public Gardens; Krishnakanth Park, Yousufguda; Mini Tank Bund Park, Malkajgiri; Parade Grounds; MG Bus Station; Jubilee Bus Station; Nampally Railway Station; Secunderabad Railway Station; Kachiguda Railway Station; I-Max, Khairatabad; In-orbit Mall; GVK One; Sujana Forum Mall; Hyderabad Central; Big Bazar, Ameerpet, various Corporate hospitals and Apollo Hospitals and its clinics.
