Speaking on the occasion, management consultant MC Das described Madugula as a perfectionist, who never compromised in producing AIR programmes. Responding to the felicitation, Madugula thanked the C Ramamohan Rao Cultural Organisation for selecting him for the award instituted in memory of the popular stage artiste.

Stating that theatre art was his passion, he attributed his growth as an artiste to the All India Radio as he gained immense experience while working with AIR. Artistes Association president K Balarama Krishna Murthy, Income Tax Deputy Commissioner T Satyanandam and others spoke. The felicitation function began with a Kuchipudi dance recital by Lalita Sahiti and a light music programme by A Ch Lakshmi.
