KRU badminton teams selected for south zone tourney

The Krishna University (KRU) Badminton Selection Committee has picked men’s and women’s teams for the South Zone Inter-University Tournament to be held at SRM University in Chennai from October 1 to 5.

PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science principal P Babu Rao on Friday said the men's and women's teams were picked during the selections held at their college on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The men’s team comprises BNVSSN Praveen (Siddhartha College, Vijayawada), P Bhuvana Teja (The Hindu College, Machilipatnam), K Preetham (KVR College, Nandigama), D Ramana Kumar (DAR College, Nuzvid), K Vidya Sagar and G Sitaram Kesari (Nalanda Degree College, Vijayawada), and M Karthik (ANR College, Gudivada).

SK Babu Lal (Nalanda Degree College) and V Siddhartha (Siddhartha College) are standbys. The women’s team consists of S Meghana (Nalanda Degree College), P Sai Sowjanya (Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala), Ch Jyothi (DAR College) and D Sri Durga (Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada).

M Haritha (KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vijayawada) and KSLVN Vasavi (ANR College) are standbys. “A coaching camp for the selected teams will be held at the indoor stadium of Siddhartha College from September 21,” he added.
