Robots magnetise students. Much to the amusement and information of the schoolchildren a demonstration of gesture controlled robot, mobile controlled robot, flying drones, quad copters, Jubie, EV 3, universal remote operated robot, defense radar prototype, home automation system and haptic arm was held as a part of the workshop titled ‘Robotics and Embedded Systems’.

Addressing students at the SRK Institute of Technology on Monday, M Srikanth, National Head of the Academy of Robotics guaranteed employment opportunities in the next 20 years for students pursuing Engineering in Robotics. He opined that after the Information Technology boom flourished from 1996 to 2006, the demand for robotics was at its peak in almost every field of study and development.
He further elaborated the students about classification of robotics in use, verticals of robotics applications, career opportunities and some of the companies that are working in the field. Industrial, professional and consumer versions of robotics and its uses were discussed in detail for better understanding of the subject. Technical project leads, robotic engineers, college administration and faculty were present during the programme.
