A helping hand towards a child’s education goes a long way; it sets foundations for moulding the future in the right direction. Hyderabad has a good number of government schools but they lack basics necessities like infrastructure, teaching equipments, such as blackboards and benches. Children studying here lag behind in the education race.

HRT8 and Daan Utsav have collaborated together to give a helping hand to such students through the ‘Project 511’ initiative. The associations announced that the annual black-tie charity dinner ‘Food for Change’ will be held on October 4 at JRC Convention Centre.

At a conference held on Tuesday it was announced that the five star hotels in the city; Novotel Hotel, ITC Kakatiya Hotel, Hyatt and Marriott will be offering palatable dishes for the attendees.

Commenting on the initiative, Sunil Lingarreddy chairman of ‘Project 511’ says, “We are developing the infrastructure of the government schools at Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Our next target is to provide science labs at government schools.”

Organiser of the event, General Manager of ITC Kakatiya Krishanan said,”Joy of giving comes from joy of participating.”People who intend to help these children can either donate Rs 50,000, which directly goes for the cause, or passes worth Rs 4,000 for six interventions per child; that is educating one child for a year in the city.

Renowned producer Suresh Babu, who participated in the event, shared, “This event will be better than last year and even celebrities will be participating in this event. There will be a lot of entertainment too.”
