On Sunday, there would be a Total Lunar Eclipse. This however happens at a time when the moon is not in the sky for India.

So the eclipse cannot be seen from here. What we can see is a brighter than normal full moon or what is sometimes called a Super Moon.

This is because on that day the moon coincidentally is at its closest approach to the earth and therefore appears a bit bigger and a bit brighter.

Incidentally a full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox, that is September 23, is called a Harvest Moon. This is because during the harvest season the full moon brightens up the sky and at least in days gone by would help farmers harvest their fields.
