Weeklong activities for the ongoing ‘Vanya Prani Saptah’ that began on Wednesday will be held at Nehru Zoological Park (NZP).

Rhino calf naming ceremony to be held
Weeklong activities for the ongoing ‘Vanya Prani Saptah’ that began on Wednesday will be held at Nehru Zoological Park (NZP).
One of the exciting activities scheduled for the week is the naming ceremony of a rhino calf, which will be released into an enclosure for public viewing.
Competitions in drawing, painting, photography, quiz and elocution for schoolchildren will be held over the week. Educational programmes on wildlife conservation will also be conducted for visitors.
The zoo authorities have marked each day to focus on specific birds and animals. Except Monday, which is a holiday for NZP, on all other days have activities scheduled.
Jogu Ramanna, Minister for EFS&T and BC welfare will be visiting the zoo on Thursday. The Vanya Prani Saptah will end on October 7.
