As part of the celebrations, the achievements of the organisation were highlighted over the past 50 years. Shilpa Chakravathi, PRO,

BSS presented opening remarks followed by a detailed presentation by Deepak Bhattacharjee, President of organisation who explained how the BSS has worked towards achieving its avowed objectives by way of serving the society.

General Secretary Dilip Bhattarcharjee explained various challenges faced by the organisation and mentioned activities taken up by them every year. He also spoke about the importance of the ‘Youth Auxiliary Wing’ (YaW) and what it has to offer to its youth.

He revealed the schedule of several cultural programmes planned during this year’s festival in which artistes from Kolkata and Mumbai will be performing for the weeklong celebrations. He urged the people to participate in large numbers and seek the blessings of Godess Durga.

Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha was brought into existence by the employees of South Central Railway, Secunderabad, in 1965-66. It was registered as a society in 1972. It grew to be one of the largest associations of the Bengali linguistic community in south India.
