A live demonstration of preparation of silk cloth was held as part of the ‘Silk Mark Expo 2015’ at Sri Satya Sai Nigamaagamam on Wednesday.

Excited audience watched the preparation of cloths from three species of silk worms used for the rich cloths; Mulberry, Eri and Tussar. Ravi, one of the demonstrators said,

“Tussar is a wild variety also known as Dasali. They are grown in wild plants. Depending on the weather conditions the process could be fast or slow.”

Stores from pan India displayed pieces at the lively event, the best of which were the chains made of pure silk. In addition, there were sarees,

dress materials and accessories available at varied price range that the attendees bought in large numbers. The expo is on until October 6 and a haven for silk lovers.
