As part of the ‘National Voluntary Blood Donation Day’ the donation camp organised by Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) and State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) collected more than 50 units of blood.

As part of the ‘National Voluntary Blood Donation Day’ the donation camp organised by Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) and State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) collected more than 50 units of blood.

Over 500 college students from the city participated in the rally from YMCA to Sundarayya Vigyana Kendram, Bagh Lingampally to celebrate the day.

The event also included a skit performed by students depicting the importance of blood donation. Participating colleges include Aurora College, Ambedkar College, Anurag College, and Nursing College.

In addition, a poster disseminating information on the significance of voluntary blood donations was also released by the organisers. The Palle Suddulu artistes entertained the audience with their folk songs focusing the need of voluntary blood donation.

Regular donors and personnel from Blood Bank were felicitated for their commendable services towards the cause.Speaking at the meet after the event, Additional Project Director, TSACS, Dr John Babu highlighted the importance of non remunerative blood donation and cited it to be the highest act of altruism.

Dr Amarendar Reddy IPW, State Academic Guidance Officer Dr Kanaka Chary, Regional Youth Coordinator Manoranjan, joint directors and staff of TSACS participated in the event.
