Hyderabad City chefs shine at culinary contest. Culinary delicacies from across the world including traditional assortments from India marked the dishes prepared by city chefs at the ‘Star Chef of Hyderabad’ contest held at Hotel Taj Banjara on Monday.

Culinary delicacies from across the world including traditional assortments from India marked the dishes prepared by city chefs at the ‘Star Chef of Hyderabad’ contest held at Hotel Taj Banjara on Monday. Around 500 budding chefs including students participated in the contest and presented exotic cakes, global cuisines like Italian, Mexican and French and sweets.

The contest, which was organised by Little Heart Oil, was held for junior (students of Hospitality and Hotel Management) and senior (professional chefs) categories challenged the culinary skills of chefs along with a test of presentation skills, dressing skills, hygiene and cleanliness for ‘Best Starter’, ‘Best Main Course’, ‘Best Mithai’ and ‘Best Cake’.

Speaking on the occasion Om Lohiya Director Little Heart Oil said, "Hyderabad is famous for its lip-smacking food. Many people visit the city for its food and the chefs in our hotels and restaurants are our food ambassadors.

“We always wanted to honour these chefs,” he added. Winners will be awarded by Minister for Irrigation, Harish Rao at Ravindra Bharati along with felicitation of famous chefs on Tuesday marking the International Chefs Day.
