City band enthralls crowd at HRC
The alternative rock band from the city, ‘Rootz’ enthralled crowd at Hard Rock Café recently. Six youngsters, Kenny Edward (vocalist), Anoop Dinesh (bass guitarist), Kala Nadhi Onukuri (lead guitarist), Sai Krishna (drummer), Vinay Sasidhar (keyboard artiste) and Ricky Fleming (rhythm guitarist),
The alternative rock band from the city, ‘Rootz’ enthralled crowd at Hard Rock Café recently. Six youngsters, Kenny Edward (vocalist), Anoop Dinesh (bass guitarist), Kala Nadhi Onukuri (lead guitarist), Sai Krishna (drummer), Vinay Sasidhar (keyboard artiste) and Ricky Fleming (rhythm guitarist), performed their own compositions including covers for numbers like “Pani da rang”, “Tumse hi”, “Sinbad the sailor”, “Daru desi” and “Kabira” amongst others that drove the crowed insane.
The band that is largely inspired by music maestro A R Rahman had started their career with jam sessions of Bollywood songs tuning them for a heavy rock feel by adding drumgs, bass and distortions. Their name is a tribute to Rahman’s old band of the same title, before he shot to fame with ‘Roja’.
