KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad is offering free genetic counselling for five days from Monday. The facility extends to genetic risk assessment for familial cancers, genetic counselling and testing of at-risk relatives, guidance regarding cancer surveillance and prevention and recommendations for management.
Speaking on the significance of genetic evaluation Dr Risha Nahar Lulla, Board Certified Genetic Counselor (level II) and Molecular Geneticist said, “KIMS Hospitals offers unique service to meet the expert genetic counsellors who can give people information about these conditions, and how they are inherited and how likely they are to happen in the family. We help the patient in medical management of the disorder and what choices family members have in facing these situations.”
