Videocon in partnership with Microsoft has announced new TVs powered by Windows 10 on Wednesday. Videocon’s Windows powered TVs will be available in 32-inch and 40-inch sizes and will run Winndows 10 Home edition out-of-the-box.

The 32-inch version offers 720p HD display resolution while the larger 40-inch model boasts of a Full HD panel. Both the TVs are powered by Intel’s Bay Trail based quad-core chip clocked at 1.33GHz coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage.

“We are extremely thrilled to announce the launch of world’s first Windows 10 powered TV. In these changing times, we realised the needs of our consumers of having easy access to technology at their convenience and therefore we designed world’s first hybrid TV cum PC.

With this TV, students can now easily create & share school assignments, home makers can curate and share recipes with the world, and professionals can work outside of their offices,” said Akshay Dhoot, Head of Technology and Innovation, Videocon.

On the connectivity front, the 32-inch model comes with 2 HDMI, 2 USB, VGA and audio I/O port. The 40-inch model gets 4 HDMI, 3 USB, VGA and audio I/O ports. Buyers need to take note that one port is already utilised to support Windows.

In simple words, rather than building a PC-on-stick, Videocon chose to add Windows operating system directly to it’s TV. To enhance the experience, Videocon is also offering WiFi and screencast features. Users can switch between TV and PC by simply choosing the desired source.

The 32-inch LED TV will be available for Rs 39,990 while the 40-inch will retail for Rs 52,990. Videocon has tied up with Vijay Sales to tap offline sales and will be available from November.
