It is high time that each and every member of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) takes upon himself the onerous, but hugely rewarding, responsibility of ensuring that the image of builders and developers,

which has touched a new low, is restored to the original status that carried an aura of respectability and awe.

First and second generation of real estate entrepreneurs have their task cut out in this regard as they can double up as the bridge with a sense of oneness, a collectivism that can send across the message that the industry remains as vibrant as ever.

This was the clarion call given by Geetamber Anand, the iconic National President of CREDAI, after inaugurating the Hyderabad Chapter of CREDAI Youth Wing (CYW) in the city on Wednesday.

His speech, which touched upon several problems confronting the industry, including threats, blackmail tactics and victimization because of red-tapism, was loaded with instances from his generation of builders. Anand wanted the young brigade to initiate steps in order to win back credibility that was getting diluted because of a poor communication with the media. He urged them to use the redressal forum as a powerful interactive tool.

Starting with an initial membership of 50 young builders from the twin cities, the Hyderabad wing will focus on training and development of second generation developers in addition to making a meaningful contribution to CSR activities, pointed out S Ram Reddy, President of CREDAI Hyderabad.

Echoing similar sentiments, CREDAI Telangana President G Ram Reddy, stated that the newly-floated body should take the lead in charting new frontiers without compromising on ethics, legalities and logistics that would help in salvaging the confidence and trust of the customers, government and the community as a whole.

In a forceful presentation, National Convenor of CYW, Aditya Javdekar, cited the successes achieved in Pune with regard to reviving the dynamism of old. He said the national membership, drawn from 74 centres, stood at 11, 500.

The Youth Wing aims to educate the second generation entrepreneurs on various aspects of the business through learning summits and study tours. It also strives to ensure knowledge sharing among developers by creating a platform for regular interaction among them.

Zonal Coordinator Jaideep Reddy, and CREDAI Hyderabad General Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, also spoke.CREDAI Youth Wing, Hyderabad, Chapter office-bearers, who will hold office for the next two years, include Jagannath Rao Bandari (City Coordinator), Joydeep Ponugoti (Secretary) and C Sankeerth Reddy (Treasurer).
