November seems like the month for many weddings. But lest we forget the young ones out there, there is a lot of fun coming up for children too. With Children’s Day fast approaching, it’s a month that every child eagerly awaits to enjoy something fun dedicated to them at school. It’s all about film and theatre this month.

International Children’s Film Festival

As part of its 19th celebrations, the Children’s Film Society of India will screen films from November 14-20. Chidren’s films from several genres and languages will be shown. Movies that have been produced between August 2013 and July 2015 have been short listed to make it for the screening at the fest.

Hyderabad Children's Theatre Festival

It’s not just all films this season. There is also a lot of theatre in store for all. This year’s Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival will be held at Shilpakala Vedika from November 4-6. The 6th edition of the festival by Vaishali Bisht’s Theatre Workshop will be teeming with the life of drama suitable for kids. Some examples of what can be expected include, ‘Taoos Chaman Ki Myna’ by Atul Tiwari, an adaptation from Naiyer Masud’s Urdu story which is a tale of forty talking mynas in a cage at the Royal Peacock Garden.

Short films for kids by Alliance Française

Alliance Française will be displaying films of varying genres for children between the age group of 7 and 12 years. The screening will take place at Lamakaan on November 4. True to the description, these short films will have a short duration in order to engage kids. Some of the French films that may be expected to be displayed include ‘L’oeil du loup’ (The eye of the wolf), a 1998 film; ‘La belle fille et le sorcier’ (The beautiful girl and the sorcerer), a 3-minute film and among others.
