Sanjay Joshi and his troupe presented an aesthetically pleasing and energetic recital of Kathak dance as part of the Convergence celebration at Our Sacred Space.

Beginning with “Krishna Vandanam”, Sanjay and his fourteen students created a mesmerising traditional aura. Following this a pure dance piece, “Nritta” comprising of ‘amad’, ‘thukda’, ‘paran’, ‘chakkardhar’ and ‘gathnikas’ was performed.

The evening progressed with an 'Ardhanareeswara' concept kavitha in praise of Lord Shiva describing his vibrant dance through a dance competition between Shiva and Parvathi. This culminated with Ardhanareeswara sthothram by Adi Shankaracharya. A “dhrupath” of saint poet Tulsi Das set to Chouthal of twelve beats and “raag durga” in praise of Goddess Kaali was also presented.

Finally, tinytots presented childhood pranks of Lord Krishna with a song interspersed with the rhythmic recitation of Sahitya, which was said as a kavith. The programme ended with a vibrant Tarana in “raag Malkauns” “Tal theen Tal”.
