The electro-rock band from Chennai, F16’s performance at Hard Rock Café was a night to remember for lovers of rock music in the city.

Five youngsters, Joshua Fernandez (vocalist), Vikram yesudas (drummer), Harshan Radakrishnan (keyboard artiste), Viraj yesudas (guitarist) and Sashank Manohar (bass) performed covers and own compositions that included numbers like “I hate early morning”, “You can wonder”, “Little forest cry”, “King’s dream”, “Light bulbs” and “My shallow lover” amongst others to the amazement of the crowd.

The band comes from a mixture of a variety of influences including garage rock, alternative and electronica.F16 has an EP out named ‘Kaleidoscope’ that consists of seven songs, the record acts as an effective acid test, laying the groundwork for an arresting live set.

Speaking to the CityTAB after their performance, the band says, “We started off tilting much to the side of rock and roll; “King’s dream”, about Martin Luther King was our first song.”

“Our influences keep shifting regularly, so we tend not to tag ourselves to a particular genre or sound. We love electronic, folk, indie and a bit of rock and roll,” they add.

Recently, the band had won an all expenses paid trip to Rubber Tracks Studios in New York where they recorded their EP “Nobody’s gonna wait”.
